They arrived with a brand-new backpack and a perfectly perched beret, convinced adventure was a state of high-octane excitement. They mastered the Petal Dance, a whirlwind of deadly grace, and trainers praised their preternatural calm under pressure. The truth was, it wasn't calm; it was profound boredom. Most monster fights were over before they'd had a chance to properly wake up. They once disarmed three bandits in a sakura storm while stifling a jaw-cracking yawn, earning their title on the spot. These days, they drift alongside Aoi, whose grand speeches about the future are the perfect lullaby. Their tactical goggles are mostly for blocking out the sun during midday naps.
